Join us for a special Día de los Santos celebration with amazing food, music and art made by our Latin American neighbors and friends.
Celebrate Dia de los Santos in Patten Parkway with our Latin Neighbors and Friends!
The first event in our 2022/23 cultural market series features the food, music and art of Latin America. Also know as “All Souls Day”, this special holiday celebrates and provides space for us to fondly celebrate loved ones that had an impact on or lives. Enjoy live traditional dance from Xochipilli Danza Folklorico, Capoeira Chattanooga, and Dia De Los Santos art activities. Plus lots of great food from Guatemala, Brazil and South America. Bring a photo or item of a loved one you would like to honor on this special day.
Activities Include:
Live Latin Music and Dance
Día de los Santos art and activities
Street food from Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, and More!
All Day Activities Include Sugar Skull Mask Making and an Altar de Ofrendas. Be sure to bring a momento for the altar if you wish to celebrate a loved ones memory today.
The History of the International Market
We began this journey by organizing the first Día de los Muertos Market for Chattanooga five years ago. Right before Covid hit, we expanded our cultural outreach to provide opportunities for Chattanooga’s refugee and new American populations to sell their art, crafts, and food. This not only supports our burgeoning entrepreneurs, but also helps create networking and deeper understanding by sharing their awesome food, music and culture with the greater community. This is our second season of events.
The International Market today
Our cultural partners: River City Company, Z.C. Patten Fund, ArtsBuild, Reagan Outdoor, and the Tennessee Arts Commission have joined our efforts to provide three events in Patten Parkway, each highlighting a particular region per event. Look for our other International Market events on our Facebook page @art120, Instagram @art120chatt, and here on Eventbrite
