The Enterprise Center President & CEO Executive Search

The Enterprise Center (TEC) serves a critical role in the efforts of the Chattanooga community to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. TEC led the creation of a 140-acre Innovation District in downtown Chattanooga, works to promote the growth of innovation opportunities in the District and the Community, is working to advance a broad research agenda for smart community applications, and created and manages important initiatives to promote digital equity.

Since its reorganization to pursue its current vision, TEC has been led by Ken Hays, who serves as TEC’s current President and CEO. Prior to assuming the leadership of TEC, Ken was instrumental in the development of TEC’s innovation vision and mission. Ken plans to continue to serve as President and CEO until the end of June, 2019 and will assist his successor with the transition. Ken intends to continue his leadership in community innovation in other ways after leaving the role as chief executive of TEC.

TEC’s next President and CEO will work at the center of a thriving entrepreneurial and innovation environment widely viewed as a model for cities across the globe. The successful candidate will be expected to continue to work with well-developed networks both inside and outside of Chattanooga and should have the demonstrated capability to develop new networks and opportunities.

Though TEC has developed a detailed vision and successful programs based upon broad community input, the new President and CEO will be expected to engage with the community and to continue the development of the organization in ways that promote the growth of entrepreneurship, innovation, research capacities, and digital inclusion in Chattanooga.
